Yes, that and the swapping of the Scorpion for a Wraith on Hemorrhage is great. I'm most excited about Rocket Race coming back. I played that gametype the most in Halo 3, so I'm hoping it remains as fun in Reach.
Sometimes I have as much fun taking screenshots as I do just playing the damn game.

And here is a pretty awesome film clip I made. I was trying to bring the Falcon to help my team finish off a round of Invasion, when someone on the other team tried to intercept me in a Banshee. I couldn't escape, so I decided to just, shall we say, trade seats with him... in mid air. Not only did I accomplish it, but we were over the water when I kicked him out, so he died in the process. :D

Just wanted to add my voice to those who are now experiencing success in getting their serial number through. Mine wasn't recognised earlier this afternoon, but worked fine just now. Patience is all I can advise really - the website gradually seems to be getting up to speed.

Re Cogsinister and others using deliberately altered serial numbers - shame on you. Such selfishness and thoughtlessness could greatly inconvenience the legitimate owners of the battery whose serial you used.

best thing apple would do here is component-ize iOS better such that updates don't require 100s of megs of downloads. say you need just a safari update, safari shows up in your update list. etc etc...

Again as I stated before... Apple is really starting to dabble in the 3D interface. The album art is a good example of this. Granted its a rip off of someone else's idea...No idea of the name of the app but I was playing around with it a few months back that did exactly this. *shrugs* Whatever.

It's not a rip off of anything. It IS that app. Apple bought it. It's in a post above somewhere. The company that originally developed it notes it on their website.

Isn't it only a �30 drop - only done it so that it appears to be under a grand. Its not a significant drop - shame really, because its still so much more than the white one!

It's only �20 more now than a same-spec white one. Cheaper than before I think.

I just cancelled my MacBook+iPod-order... The folks at Apple couldn't say if the back to school-offer would still be valid if I switched iPods so I'm placing a new order on Tuesday so I can save 200 bucks on the iPod :)

There's another temperature monitoring utility, called appropriately enough, Temperature Monitor. I switched to it after CoreDuoTemp was flaking out on me. So far, it's given me pretty reliable readings. Maybe you guys should try that.

I'm pretty sure readings of 15C-19C are incorrect. I've NEVER seen or heard of modern laptop/desktop CPUs running that cool.

The lowest readings I've gotten on my laptop, from memory, would be low to mid 40s. It usually idles at mid-50s.


With regards to "pushing the machine = shutdown"... that's only somewhat true. Making both cores 100% cpu usage has been a way to trigger the random shutdown, but that doesn't make it the cause. I've had plenty of situations where my MacBook was idling and just turned itself off...

This statement has me a bit puzzled. FCP is supposed to be out in around 2 months. Are they going to rush the rest into FCP in this amount of time, or get the basics in there, then drag onto multiple updates?

I think it's simpler than that - Apple wasn't ready to tip their full hand, just whet everyone's appetite.

Hence us seeing an older, less complete build while the final version is still being polished.

And I have no doubt their will be some quick post-release updates - that's the way of life for complicated applications and it has been for quite a while now. The applications are complex, the underlying operating systems are complex, and how they interact with other applications and utilities installed on the system are also incredibly complex. If you have a low tolerance for stability, wait a least a year before switching to it for production work. That's not a symptom of Apple being sloppy, it's a matter of pragmatic risk management.

For those who are expressing outrage that perfect and bug-free applications aren't being delivered - you couldn't afford them. While it can be done, it can't be done for consumer (or even "Pro") level pricing.

as happy as i am, this is just gonna lower the value of my powerbook!

Well, the title says it all. I had to reinstall the app. I got the error "not enough memory" everytime I started iTunes.

So refrain from doing the same mistake and keep waiting for an upgrade of UNO.
